1. You can realistically lose between 1-3 lbs per week.

Thats right. If you want to lose body fat quickly, forget about the “lose 20 lbs in 1 week” hype.

Why 1-3 lbs of body fat? Look at it this way. You did not gain 10-20 lbs in 1 week, so you aren’t going to lose it that quickly either. The other reason that 1-3 lbs is a realistic number to lose body fat quickly is that you are losing fat, not weight. Let me explain.

If you lose weight, you are losing water weight, muscle mass, and if you are lucky, maybe a little bit of fat. Water weight comes back on very quickly and muscle mass takes some hard work to get back.

If you lose fat, then you are getting rid of the ugly body fat while maintaining (or even slightly adding) muscle mass. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism, and the better your chances to lose body fat quickly.

So concentrate on losing 1-3lbs of fat per week. An extreme crash diet will probably have you ending up gaining more weight after it is all said and done. Remember, your safety is the most important thing. Don’t compromise that for anything.

So what is the best way to lose 1-3 lbs of body fat per week quickly?

2. The right combination of food choices, resistance training, and a type of cardio called interval training.

If you combine these 3 things in the right way, you will create a killer combination. If you are eating the right foods and creating a caloric defecit, then you will lose fat.

If you combine resistance training and interval training, you will increase your metabolism. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you burn while active and at rest. Don’t worry about getting “bulky” with resistance training! The only people who get “bulky” are bodybuilders, and they workout much differently than you will.
